Gayane Khatchaturia
1942- was born in Tbilisi. 1949-1955 - studied at No 14 women’s secondary school, Tiblisi 1955-1959 continued study no 101 secondary school, at the same time entered the Art school of the artistic college named after Nikoladze, Tibilisi. 1959-1960 took correspondence course at Republican secondary school of working youth. After graduation seriously indulged in creative work. 1963 made the acquaintance of A. Bajbeuk Melikian, who played a great role in her artistic formation. Stated to participate in the exhibitions (State Ouctyre Gallery, Tibilsi). 1965- in her creation took an interest People’s artist of Georgia E. Akhvlediani. 1967, 1970-1971 took part in the exhibitions of amateur artists and folk skilled craftsmen of Georgia (State Picture Gallery, Tbilisi). 1968 the art works were shown in the “Decorative Art’ magazine editorial office, Moscow. 1971- personal exhibition in the Artost’ Union and the House of Scientists, Yerevan. 1972- personal exhibition in the House of Actors, named after A. Khorava, Tibilisi. 1978- became an exponent of Modern Art Museum (Yerevan). On H. Igitian’s initiative, her works were chosen and sent to the exhibition in Portugal, then Paris, Lyons, Marseilles. Two films were produced about Gayane Khatchaturian at “Hayfilm” cinemas studio. 1971- “Gayane” producer Y. Erznkian, with the preface of People’s Artist of the USSR Matiros Sarian. 1978 -“Blue wind, smell of almonds” , producer R. Gevorgian The works are deept in Modern Art Museum (Yerevan) and several private collections in many countries of the world. May 1, 2009 after a long and serious illness passed away.
